PTA

A warm welcome from the current parents of Grazeley Primary School!

Grazeley PTA is a friendly, vibrant group of (busy!) parents, who fundraise to provide more activities, equipment, and experiences for all the children.

As a parent with children at the school you automatically become a member of the PTA, whatever support you can offer, we’d love to see you and have your input.

Why is it important for a school to have a PTA?

A good PTA can help strengthen the child, parent, school community and can become a huge marketing tool for the school, a way of strengthening their reputation within the local community and increasing family engagement. The PTA can help communicate with families more effectively, enhance fundraising efforts and qualify for grants and awards to support the school. All this activity helps our school to succeed and our children to have the best opportunities to flourish.

Being on the committee:

  • Gives you a strong connection with the school, at a time when you’re increasingly independent children may be telling you less about what goes on!
  • Allows you influence some decisions affecting school life
  • Provides a great way to network and meet other parents
  • Offers you an opportunity to support your school and enhance your child/children’s experience

What will be expected of me?

There is no expectation on any parent volunteer, but of course any amount of time you can give to the PTA will always be well received!

There are a variety of ways you can get involved, from engaging with social media activity, attending PTA Meetings through to volunteering or coordinating at our events. Donating preloved items, raffle prizes, buying raffle tickets, bidding at our silent auctions, or suggesting new ideas are ways of getting involved. There seems to be a myth that if you get involved with your PTA you will never be able to escape! We welcome parents to join us to listen and learn, or you can take more active role if you would like, there are no set expectations.

If you do have a little time on your hands, there are many ways you can help us;

  • Join us at our AGM or PTA meetings
  • Share your ideas for fundraising
  • Volunteer to co-ordinate or help at PTA events
  • Help prepare for PTA events, for example wrap lucky dip prizes or Wonka bars (at home in your own time)
  • Support us with raffle donations to be used at events (bottles, sweets, coloured hamper items, etc).
  • Help with collecting these items at the school gate
  • Use our school clothes bank for your clothing and bedding donations to help generate funds for the school
  • Engage with social media posts and your class WhatsApp groups

Please support our events

We understand life can be hectic and you can still make an invaluable contribution simply by attending school events with friends and relatives

Helping where needed

It only takes a few people to plan an event but a whole lot more to run one! If you can help at any of our events, please let one of the committee members know.
